Vision Aero is a specialized provider for the commercial and general aviation industry, focused on aircraft parts and components. Strategically present across North America and Europe, Vision Aero maintains a large stock of the most in demand parts, ready to ship for commercial and regional aircraft. Customer service is their top priority  backed by a one of a kind 24 hour live AOG service and an exchange and leasing PBH program designed to ensure aircraft are never grounded.

To support its growing operations, Vision Aero uses AvSight for managing work orders, purchasing, and operational workflows. Astonous Ship was implemented within Salesforce to streamline shipment creation and tracking.

Client Challenges

While AvSight handles core aviation operations, it lacks native fulfillment capability  creating gaps in Vision Aero's shipment process:

  • No Real Time Incoming Shipment Tracking: Outbound shipment tracking was already in place, but incoming shipments from Purchase Orders had no equivalent visibility. The team could not monitor inbound parts in real time, limiting their ability to manage inbound logistics effectively.
  • Misaligned Shipment Workflow: The overall shipment process was not aligned with how operations actually run, making it difficult for users to manage both outbound and inbound shipments seamlessly within Salesforce.

Solutions

The shipment process was enhanced within Salesforce using Astonous Ship to fill AvSight's fulfillment gaps:

  • Shipment Creation on the Release Object: The "Create Shipment" action was configured on the Release object, allowing users to initiate shipments directly at the execution stage  aligning the system with real-world operations and improving usability.
  • Real-Time Incoming Shipment Tracking: Tracking was extended to inbound shipments generated from Purchase Orders, matching the existing outbound tracking capability. The team can now monitor incoming shipments in real time within Salesforce.
  • Centralized Shipment Management: Both outbound and inbound shipments are now managed within a single, unified system, ensuring consistency and full visibility across the entire logistics process.
